The speaker - Alex Keynes from Transport and Environment - will tell us about the EU's decisions to phase out the internal combustion engine from 2035 onwards, what the Commission's position is, how member states are reacting and what is the role of the electric car in the clean air and climate neutrality policies in Europe.

About the lecturer:
Alex joined T&E in the role of Clean Vehicles Manager in 2020. He leads key aspects of T&E's work on cars, including sustainable batteries, vehicle CO2 standards and emissions of other pollutants.
He previously worked as a public affairs consultant and assistant at the European Parliament, where he was involved in legislation covering emissions trading, air quality and the decarbonisation of cars, trucks and aircraft.
