The stock market has gone through some major changes over the course of the ast 2 years, with big tech having taken the lead in regards to market returns. In fact, the top 10 companies that make up the S&P 500 index account for over 27% of its total weight.

This is a result of major monopolies from companies such as Google, Amazon, Apple, Microsoft, and Facebook. While the stock market's valuation remains high for now, the stock market is quite different that during the dot-com boom of the early 2000s. These mega cap tech staps of the modern markets are posting unprecedented net-income figures, which is helping justify their valutation. That said, higher interest rates coming into effect in 2022 will undoubtedly impact the markets.
