Praveen Khandelwal, who at present is holding the office of National Secretary-General of the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT), is often described by the media as "a man of masses who is always alert in fighting the cause of unincorporated sector of India'. The agitation in Delhi against sealing and demolitions in past years brought the role of Shri Praveen Khandelwal in the limelight. His style of functioning created an impact to the extent that he enjoyed the reputation of a visionary
leader gifted with organizational capacity and oratory skills carrying conviction with masses.

A law graduate from the University of Delhi and well-versed in both English & Hindi languages, Praveen Khandelwal is a business community leader at the national level. He has led many all India agitations with his talented and dedicated colleagues on several vital issues of traders, including Retail FDI, VAT & Service Tax. Currently, he is also strongly advocating the cause of the trading community on FDI in Retail Trade, Goods & Service Tax (GST) and FDI in e-commerce, among other core issues.

In its true sense, Mr Khandelwal, a torchbearer, is a strong supporter of up-gradation and modernization of the existing format of retail trade. He is instrumental in launching various national campaigns with renowned institutions, including eBay, in promoting e-commerce and with MasterCard to incentivize usage of Debit-Credit Cards among the trading community of India. He is termed as an expert on economic and policy issues. He has addressed many national & international Seminars & Conferences on several matters concerning the domestic trade of India, taxation matters, monetary policy issues etc.

Praveen Khandelwal is a tech-savvy person who makes optimum use of modern technology and communication tools to remain in constant touch with people apart from maintaining direct personal contacts. He manages the business of Builder's Hardware, Timber & Plywood, Interiors, Stainless Steel Fabrications and Web & Media Communication from his corporate office in Delhi.

His family is one of the oldest families of Delhi, is well connected with several organizations of Delhi and the Country, engaged in philanthropic, educational and social and religious activities. He has also founded a Board the "CAIT Research & Trade Development Society' comprising of selected and eminent businessmen of Delhi and other States of the Country for undertaking continuous research on important issues of trade and economy.
