At 12:41 AM on July 30, 2025, a man in his 30s was shot and killed while pressure washing restaurant equipment outside a business on 2528 Calumet St. in Houston. According to investigators, a grey/silver truck pulled up, and after a verbal exchange, the driver exited the vehicle, continued arguing, and then shot the victim once before fleeing the scene.

The victim's brother, who was inside the business at the time, came outside and discovered him shot. Houston Fire Department personnel responded and pronounced the man deceased at the scene. As of now, there is no known motive, and the investigation remains ongoing.
