Over a month ago, I submitted my application to @cbcdragon thinking oh no, it's a few days late... I probably didn't make the cut.
A week and a half later, I had a 12-minute phone call with a producer that asked me, "Can you come in next Wednesday?"
And I repeated over the phone multiple times, "What do you mean come pitch in front of the DRAGONS?" I was in shock, disbelief, conLfusion, and excitement, and I was like NO WAY, this is too good to be true!
And…. five days ago, I faced the Dragons in person. ????
My first EVER pitch. ✅
I still feel like I am floating. ????
Was I nervous? OF COURSE. But I needed to stay calm to get organized for the opportunity of a lifetime. As soon as I stepped into the den, my heart stopped racing, and it wasn't so scary. I know my business inside and out and am so proud of our journey we’ve undertaken + the community who is cheering us on.
HUGE thank you to my cousins, Vu, Van Anh and Lena, for helping me prep and taking me out to celebrate after! ????
Thank you, Jeff, for building my display, being my emotional support when I didn't think I could, and Dustin, for letting Jeff use your shop AND constructing the first display!
Thank you to my team at XXL Scrunchie, Courtney, Taetum, Jordyn, my parents and my brother John for helping me in every way to let me focus, prepare and prioritize this chance!
And thank you to my cousin Anh Lan who I made and gifted the FIRST XXL Scrunchie, who told me to start it as a business and manifested to me that night of Christmas 2019, "You're going to be on Dragon's Den."
If you have a dream, an idea, or something you've wanted to start for a while... take this as your sign TO JUST DO IT. You will figure it out along the way, trust me. ????
If you have any questions, please leave them below in the comments. I will answer what I can in the vlog I’m planning to create about this experience so far! ????↓
