In this video tutorial I will be showing you how to add SSL certificate to your WordPress website. This is the exact method that I use in adding SSL certificate to most of my client’s website if the type of hosting they are on do not automatically install and SSL certificate for them.

SSL is an acronym for Secured Socket Layer and its function is to encrypt whatever information that goes between your website and your visitors.
The following reasons are why you need Secured Socket Layer (SSL) installed alongside your hosting plan:
1.It shows that your website is secure.
2.It makes the search engines trust your site.
3.If you run an e-commerce website, it gives a vote of confidence to your visitors.
4.It boosts your SEO.
5.It makes Google trust your site.

How to add SSL certificate to your WordPress website – Option 1
You can choose the option of contacting your website host for your Secured Socket Layer (SSL) if you do not have one installed. Usually, it is supposed to be free though some hosting companies usually charge for it.
How to add SSL certificate to your WordPress website – Option 2
The second option is to configure your WordPress website with a SSL plugin so that when visitors visit your website, it serves them the secured version of it. In this tutorial we will be using the Really Simple SSL.
