Google and Ads are almost synonyms. Everybody spends on Google and its Display, Youtube products.
Google Ads is a great product. But NOT for ecommerce.
In this short video I explain how Amazon Ads are so much better than Google.

Google generates almost $200 billion of ad sales.
Google ads come on text, video and display.
Most people use Google Analytics or equivalent software to track conversions.
Conversions are typically website sales, app installs or phone calls and leads.

Lot of research is available on Google conversions.
I have 10+ years of experience of spending on Google Ads.
10% is the maximum conversion for leads or phone calls.
Funnels try to explain drop-offs. But even the best websites can’t convert more than 10% of Google Ad clicks.

I have personally spent crores of rupees for Ecommerce conversions. This is for my employer and my agency clients.
Lot of publicly available data is also there.
Google Ads convert only at around 1% or so. Best optimized ecommerce websites convert at around 1.5% to 2%

I started selling on Amazon in early 2020.
The first thing that shocked me was the conversion rate. It was a minimum of 20%...and sometimes at around 80%.
The high conversion rate at Amazon continues to amaze me – both my conversion rate and those that my agency clients have.
Lot of data is also published on Amazon ACOS and Amazon unit session %age.
Unit session %age for those who are knew is Amazon speak for conversions of sessions. If you have optimized your products and ads, this can go to even 70%

Why does Amazon convert so much better?
The answer lies in the AIDA theory of marketing.
AIDA stands for awareness, interest, desire and action.
Most Google users are at awareness and interest level. They drop-off at every stage.
Most Amazon users are already at action level. They come and just buy!

As an Amazon seller you just need to do 3 things. Source good products. Do a good job on listings + reviews. And do good Amazon PPC ads.
That’s it!
Amazon conversions will do the rest of the job for you.

You will need PPC to push the initial sales along with listing optimization.
50% or more of your initial orders will happen via Paid PPC.
You need PPC to get you a good sales rank!
Then Amazon’s 25% Conversion will do its magic for you
