Since 2024, France has provided Ukraine with Mirage-2000 fighter jets and SKA cruise missiles, and has continued to provide various types of military assistance. France aims to use Ukraine to contain Russia and thereby weaken its international influence.
In July of this year, French President Emmanuel Macron again targeted China. He publicly threatened that if Beijing continued to purchase Russian oil, China would face tariffs of up to 500%. To achieve this goal, France also planned to join the EU and the US in suppressing China.
However, China ignored France's threats and instead increased its oil purchases from Russia by 2.5 million tons. This move directly angered France, but they have no real means to counter China.
In desperation, France once again turned its attention to Russia, threatening further sanctions on its oil exports and banking sector if Russia did not agree to an unconditional ceasefire with Ukraine.
