Logistics specialist Panattoni is enthusiastic about prospect for the market in France and has recently established a Paris office and hired managing director Salvi Cals as the country head.
“France is the second largest market in Europe – we probably should have entered France much earlier but we have been very busy in other places in Europe,” said CEO Robert Dobrzycki.
Talking to Real Asset Insight’s Richard Betts Dobrzycki explained that the growth of e-commerce and levels of consumption make it likely that France will become even more significant in European terms.
But e-commerce is not the only driver and as traditional retail fights back it creates even more demand for logistics.
“E-commerce and the omnichannel distribution trend is really what is driving the market, whether it’s for pure e-retailers but also from brick and mortar chains. 3PLs are also very active and they are looking for high quality premises close to the city centres across france,” said Salvi Cals.
