This is a question that eBay sellers often ask. How do we get our listing to the top of the search engine? Today, we will demystify the eBay cassini algorithm in 2022, and what you need to do to get to the top and generate huge amounts of sales

The algorithm looks at 3 main factors which we will detail below
1. Search Engine Optimization
This looks at keywords, price and shipping and returns policies.
Using the right keywords in your title, item specifics and description is extremely important to build relevance for your listing so that eBay knows to show you for that specific query.
We also want to look at the pricing because having a lower price means that you can beat out other sellers if you have a better pricing strategy than them.
Finally, we need to make sure that our shipping and return policies are strong. Having better policies than your competitors help you rank higher (i.e. a longer return period etc)

2. Listing Performance
eBay looks at your click through rate, conversion rate and sales history to help you rank better on eBay.
Click through rate is how many times people click through to your listing after seeing it in the search results. This is improved with a better title, a better c
The conversion rate looks at how often people are buying after seeing your listing.
To improve this, we look at pricing, item descriptions and promotions to help you convert better
Next, we look at your sales history. A strategy to improve this is to start with a 0 profit pricing, and then increase it after you start to get sales.

3. Account performance
This looks at your sell through rate, your customer service and your defect and late shipment rate

Sell through rate is your active listings/sales X 100
Having a higher sell through rate will help newer listings to appear higher on the search engines.

Customer Service. Always get the last message in, and “kill your customer with kindness”
This is super important as it is a huge metric that eBay looks at to rank your listings.

Defect and late shipment rate
This is something that you need to try and manage as best you can as having a poor defect rate can mean that your listings get hidden in the search engines.
