Do You Really Have a Dedicated Store on eBay? - Your Reselling Q&A

The next time you to go Walmart look around to see if you can find a Best Buy branded "Insignia" item or vice versa find an ONN product in Best Buy. It won't happen. Why? Because these stores work with 3rd party brands as well as their own brands. They are not forced to show competing brands in their stores as they have sole descretion as to what items are displayed in their stores. Go to any of the big box stores and you wont find this.

This happens in the online world but not as agressively as eBay does it. When you look at Poshmark or Mercari for example, you may see competitors items in your listing but at the very bottom of the page. With eBay, you can't even scroll down to the item description before your competition's listings are right there.

What eBay does not understand is their greed is causing customer confusion. If you have a listing and the buyer sees other similar items, they may become confused if they are looking to buy multiple items from you. Bottom line, eBay cares about getting the sale but not necessarily for you. Your listing is just another tool to accomplish this. We all have to accept that if we continue to sell on the platform.
