COE premiums for Category C vehicles closed at almost S$33,000 on Oct 7 -- the highest in more than two years. Industry players said the higher premiums are driven partly by the booming e-commerce and logistics sector amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The high prices may also be due to increased demand for lorries from the construction sector, as companies have to ensure safe distancing when ferrying their workers, thus reducing the vehicles' capacity.
