WHAT WAS AMAZON PRIME DAY’S IMPACT ON NON-AMAZON ECOMMERCE SALES?


Here’s a quick overview with the key holiday insights shared in our fourth #BiggestHolidayChallenge video, which reviews the impact of 2020 Prime Day:
Third party sellers on Amazon earned 57% of their total Prime Day revenue on Day 2 of Prime Day. NetElixir’s analysis: Customers may be less inclined to make impulse purchases, especially as they get an early start to their holiday shopping and have time to research the best deal.
The average order value was 44% higher on Day 2 than Day 1. NetElixir’s analysis: Consumers are still willing to spend big, but will most likely confirm that they are getting the best deal out there so make sure your promotions highlight your business’s sales and offers.
Prime Day triggered site-wide growth across non-Amazon eCommerce channels resulting in a 19% increase in website sessions, 17% increase in website conversions, and a 42% increase in eCommerce revenue within NetElixir’s dataset compared to prior non-sales days. NetElixir’s analysis: While already online for big sales events like Prime Day, consumers search and shop around. Leverage surges in online traffic through strategic promotions on search and social channels, as a retailer doesn’t necessarily need to be on Amazon marketplace to reach Prime customers.
