For all those who absolutely enjoy streaming movies and web series on their smartphones, there is some good news. Amazon Prime Video has launched an affordable version of its video streaming service for viewers.

The e-commerce company has unveiled the Amazon Prime Video Mobile Edition at Rs 599 per year. The tech giant launched the Video Mobile Edition last year in partnership with Airtel, however, now it has expanded access to all customers across India.

According to Amazon, the cheaper version of the subscription will only give access to one user and on one smartphone. The subscribers of the new service will have access to all videos on the platform in standard definition (SD) format. The mobile subscription plan will not offer access to multiple profiles, streaming content up to 4K resolution on computers and smart TVs - facilities that are offered on the regular Prime Video subscription.

Users can sign up for the plan through the Prime Video App or simply visit the Prime Video website to get the annual subscription to Prime Video Mobile Edition. They can also opt for the full Prime Video subscription that comes at Rs 1,499. The full subscription offers benefits such as access to music streaming and faster deliveries of various products.

The new subscription plan has come at a time, when the e-commerce giant is on its path to expand its mobile only-plan. Last year, Amazon introduced the plan to Airtel users who got access to the same content as regular Prime Video subscribers. The plan was offered along with 6GB data for 28 years at Rs 89. At the moment, Airtel users can also select a plan of Rs 299 which offers access to Prime Video Mobile edition with 1.5GB of data every day for 28 days.

The latest announcement is seen as the e-commerce giant's plan to boost its growth to compete with other streaming services in India.
