Disclaimer: This is not a how to video. This simply shows some of the things I buy to resell on eBay. Past performance is no indication of future gains. Each buy is a gamble or an educated guess on my part. No sales are guaranteed. Each eBay reseller should only buy items that they are comfortable with and that they have thoroughly researched. I do not specialize in the quick flip. Most of my items are long tail, meaning they will sit unsold sometimes for weeks, months or years before selling. Retail arbitrage items regardless of source will see a severe reduction in price as more reseller click to the fact that this is a profitable item. We refer to it as 'the race to the bottom'. Savvy sellers will wait until the market glut settles and they can get closer to the price point they desire. This is most effective on items that have a limited supply. (example: Starbucks limited issue coffee tumblers or limited release Nike shoes) This is not a business model that will work for most people. Some refer to this as 'First in, Last out" This means the seller that is first to market and the last seller standing get the best return on investment thus making the most profit. I offer these videos ONLY as a glimpse into my life and how I make money online, it is not intended as a shopping list for the uninitiated or even the experienced eBay seller. I , and content creators like me, simply try to show the type of items we purchase and the types of places we find those items whether it be a yard sale, a thrift store, a liquidation pallet or a retail store. The vast majority of my items are sold at a profit, but not all. Some are break even, some are sold at a loss, some are or become damaged and are unsaleable, and a few simply do not sell at any price and are eventually taken down & donated. Sometimes an expected profit does not materialize due to market fluctuations, a lack of expected demand, or simply due to poor purchasing decisions. I have been a reseller most of my life and a eBay reseller since 1999. I have owned and/or operated a flea market stall, a small time scrap and salvage business (from home) as well as a brick and mortar thrift store in central Alabama but I make no claims to special skills or knowledge. I find selling online for the most part enjoyable and profitable. If you are considering selling online for the first time be sure to do your own research as the person ultimately responsible for your financial decisions is you.
This is an attempt to address a concern of mine before it becomes an issue for someone else. Thank you one and all for watching and commenting on my videos, the one thing you do not get working by and for yourself is companionship of like minded individuals, so I truly appreciate the views and comments.
