Mercari To Change Their Fee Structure Again - Your Reselling Q&A

Earlier this year, Mercari changed their fee structure so that the buyer pays all fees making it free of seller fees. On the surface this may seem like a good thing for sellers but it created an invironment of slower sales and as a result, Mercari is changing course. Effective January 6, 2025, the seller will pay a 10% fee on sold items and the buyer will pay a 3.6% buyer protection fee. This ends up being a fee increase to 13.6% that is a shared fee between buyer and seller.
Now I said earlier in the year Mercari should implement a shared fee from the start and it looks like they have listened (that is assuming they listen to channels like this).
